Water Main Secondary Rehabilitation, China

A cement pipeline failed again after the first repair using stainless steel lining, so a second repair needs to be carried out as soon as possible.

Medium Diameter Project Length Pipe Conditions Rehabilitation Method
Water Main DN 800 (32") 900 meters (2,950 feet) Host pipe: cement. 1st repair: stainless steel lining NOORDILINER

Project Challenges

The 900 meters (2,950 feet) DN800 (32") cement pipeline, operating at 4 bar, suffered severe leakage due to aging infrastructure, with significant rupture risks. An initial stainless steel lining repair failed when negative pressure caused deformation, reducing the flow section and compromising water supply safety.

  • Severe leaks requiring urgent repair

  • Original stainless steel liner heavily damaged

  • Minimize impact on residents

  • Large-diameter pipeline

NordiTube Solution

NordiTube, in collaboration with the construction contractor, completely removed the stainless steel liner and performed a secondary repair using NORDILINER.

Technology: IH (Inserted Hose)

Product: NORDILINER

Project Result

After the repair was completed, it significantly enhanced the safety and stability of the pipeline water supply, completely eliminating the risk of pipe bursts.
